Start early get done early works best. Being able to park in one of the last remaining spots, where inexperienced drivers would not even consider trying, almost always gets you a spot.

Just do us all a favor and don't park a bobtail in a full spot please.

Spots aren't that bad. I usually just think "what place around here would get a load off a 53'".... And viola lol helps being a giant can company though

Usually in the corner or somewhere that's not a truck spot, or if I have to take a full spot, I find the most difficult one for a truck and trailer to get into, and take that one. The guys that take up the straight backs because they're lazy drive me up a wall.

You can always park with other bobtails, or in the car parking sometimes.

That was my experience when I was OTR. If you can back with confidence you can in in real parking spaces that are available. Many "never back unless you have an escort" drivers won't even try a single open space. If it's not 2 spaces together or 200 yards empty in front, it's "impossible".

This was by far my biggest stress point my first few months OTR. There are plenty of spots, just not at 11pm. Get the Roadbreakers app for your phone--it shows every gravel lot near where you're going. If there's a Walmart near where you need to stop, call ahead (the app gives you the number) and ask permission to park and if there's a place in the lot where you'll be out of the way. That little bit of courtesy can sometimes get you past a "no trucks" sign.

My personal favorite though, is when some ####### in his super duper Dodge Ram has his tow mirrors flipped out and his sliders pulled out in his RV. And usually it's wayyy tight to get in there really quickly.
