I was told by a GFS driver that it because Bob Evans wanted a supplier with multiple distribution centers, and Mattingly couldn't do it. I think he said in case of a catastrophic event like fire, tornado, etc. Not to have all their eggs in one basket, if you want a cliché.

Does GFS supply them nationwide? I was originally under the impression that was why GFS got the business.

When I drove otr for Big G Express out of TN, we had a big account at the glass factory there in zanesville. We would pick up empty bottles going back down to Jack Daniels in Lynchburg TN. Anyway, we rented drop yard space from Mattingly to store empty trls and such. I'd always go into the little cash and carry store they had at the warehouse to see what kind of deals I could find. It was mostly expired stuff that they sold dirt cheap. Its been over a year since I've left otr and I didn't know they went out of business.

I've never met someone who gets a hard on for hand trucks.

    Nice to meet you.

Bob Evans isn't nationwide mid-west east coast there head quartered in Ohio. GFS from what I know does Bob Evans system wide.

By the way, I really don't like the round extension and the way the handle attaches to the back of the frame. It rests on my arm all goofy and I'm just not comfortable with it. Every trainee I get has one, and I hate when I have to use it.

I was told they're built like that because it provides more leverage when tipping back a heavy load. Which I don't get, because when I have a monster stack I have both hands on the boxes until it comes back. Otherwise the stack just falls off the front. I just assume they're cheaper to build.

Mine are like this, only really dirty and with a bunch of padding on them. I saw a brand new one the other day, so maybe we're buying these again.

I showed one of our other drivers my new Wyse hand truck and he went "Holy cow it's like 30lbs heavier then our current ones." He then said "The breaking system on this thing is insane."
