I would advise against it, due to the fact that birds are far more sensitive to fumes and odors than other pets. Diesel exhaust stinks, as well as diesel itself. My GF won't even allow scented candles to be burned on the same floor of the house her bird is in. Emerald conure, he's a little a-hole.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm always glad to hear everybody's opinions both good and bad. From the companies I have looked at they have newer trucks and APUs and as strange as it sounds birds are really great at managing temperature so he will be good in weather
Does anybody have opinions on Jim Palmer/Prime/Wil-Trans ?? They are the ones with a driver school/ eventual pet policy I have seen.
@KleeTrucking. Please give details as to why you would discourage it?
I know you can be on the road for weeks on end. it has always been a dream of mine for some reason. I don't have a wife/or kids. So it really seems like a great opportunity. -
Everyone knows trucking is for the birds.
SHOJim, tucker, lagbrosdetmi and 3 others Thank this. -
does fumes come in to the truck at all?? -
What if it gets out of the cage and starts pecking on your head while your driving? Might not be too safe.
thejackal Thanks this. -
rachi Thanks this.

I'd be concerned about temperature extremes with an animal that can't readily jump out and walk around with you.

Prime trucks are small with very little to no storage. Wil-Trans owns Jim Palmer, but stays in the eastern states. Go with Jim Palmer!Ironfeather Thanks this. -
