Distributor is J/X Peterbilt, the quote we got today (through my shop's account) is $1,830 for the radiator (all OEM) with everything around it (shroud, frame, tanks, etc...), $870 less than what they quoted me over the phone!!!!!

They can also sell me an aftermarket one, same deal, everything comes with it, for $1,374.25......both sold through J/X.......

I'm waiting on confirmation that the aftermarket radiator includes all the extras....I'll probably go check it out before purchase as I want to make sure it's the same......

JX Peterbilt isn't a distributor, they're just another Peterbilt dealership. Your shop is just buying the parts from one Peterbilt dealership instead of another. There's nothing wrong with that - you probably have a better business relationship with JX and they give you a discount.

    RERM Thanks this.

Radiator is on, go out for a test drive and......it overheats, again, they didn't change the thermostats because both lines were hot.....well, I went out and bought the dam things, will put them on tomorrow....

Fingers crossed that that does the trick, otherwise the water pump is another $600.....

    GREAT BALLS OF FIRE!!!!!!

That aftermarket price for $1374 and change still seems way too high,Even as a Bolt on .....

Go get a core from what I suggested.I think Pete Cores are like $6-700 .(that's telling me this JX peterbilt markups are 50%) You aint gonna be in business long depending on dealerships.

$600 water pump? Come on! C-15 water pumps $285 out the door.

    Butcher's bill:

    1. OEM radiator $1,830
    2. 2 Cat thermostats ($120)
    3. 3 rubber radiator fairings ($115)
    4. Labor $500

9 days of downtime (8 days wait for radiator + 1 day for install and test drive)

    Problem solved.
