Sir, a more scenic route would be take US13 down to Norfolk and get on 168 and take it down to NC 12 and follow on down to US70 then over to US17 down to US 74-76 that'd be one helll of a scenic route....don't know if EZ Pass would pay toll charges for the ferry service though Have taken that route in a 4 wheeler a few times....

 

The first ferry would be a free one from Hatteras Island over to Ocracoke (where my oldest son is working at present) and then the pay ferry is from Ocracoke over to Cedar Island.
