Got kicked out of a shipper today because they wanted my SSN on their little checkout sheet and I wouldn't give it to them.
Anyone ever heard of this BS?
Got kicked off the property this morning...

I've been to places like that. Once they wanted me to sign a form that I would be responsible for any injuries to the lumper and would play all medical bills and take full responsibility for the lumper. Now, this was one of their lumpers and the truckers were requied to hire them or the truck wouldn't be unloaded.
I always signed anything they wanted me to and always signed "Alfred E. Newman" of Mad Magazine fame.Igottapee!!, CoyoteExpress, scottlav46 and 38 others Thank this. -
No way would I ever give an SS number, D/L number though is actually a requirement for most food safety loads, in some cases they want a copy of it. Under the new TSA, USDA, food safety rules, they need to be able to track you and the load in the event of something suspicious happening to the load.
Driver for one of our competitors refused to give his D/L to the USDA inspector and the shipper on a load last year. Shipper refused to load and banned the company from the property. When he reported to the company what happened, they fired him for refusing to cooperate with the USDA inspector, and had to beg to get back in the good graces of the shipper.Dominick253, Toomanybikes and texasbbqbest Thank this. -
I I give them my real numbers, the odds of being hacked are too low to worry about.
