    Question for JohnBoy or Hudson:

My QC is extremely slow. My truck is a 15 KW with over 400kmi. I have recently gone to just hitting on or off duty and not selecting any reasons as it can take 2 to 3 minutes to jack with the aged and malfunctioning "touch" screen.

Since the good old paper logs only required time and location [except PTI, I still log that], do we have to put in reasons? I seriously doubt that they would change out QC units with the truck being this close to being cycled out.

Because the very sad truth is NONE of us are qualified to work ANY place else other than Abilene. We ALL wish we could find a better place to work but NO ONE will take us.

Some of us even have 38 years with a clean safe record and that doesn't even help. And none of us could possibly think to leave and return to the other careers we had prior to Abilene.

We are all STUCK here and FORCED to live under slavish conditions with no way out.

Thanks, now I'm so depressed... My life is over.

Oh wait, I forgot, we all could choose to go to another carrier or many of us could simply return to a career we came from but we don't.

We all choose every day to continue to work here... And I really don't think there is an unintelligent person among us....

    So what does that mean?
    To you, nothing.

    Stay Safe,
    MD

If that is 8 hours a days and 5 days a weeks. That would be a great job.

The QC I had in my 2012 Volvo was fast. Every one since then I would like to take a sledge hammer to it.

I always have to defend Swift. They treated me really well. Spoiled me rotten from the very beginning.

Got rerouted to the new BH facility in New Castle, IN.

Something about an extra pallet loaded in Groveport last night. Felt like they had to fully unload my trailer to figure it out. According to the suspension load air Guage, if I'm not empty, I'm dang close to it. Now, I'm into my 14, meaning I won't get near as far as I hoped today.

    Oh, well.
I actually called them while I was in school. What steered me away from them was the mandatory 4 week training. The recruiter had interesting information about a route I qualified for even with my disabilities. Might have been a great job, but 4 weeks in a truck with a stranger just wasn't what I wanted/needed. So....

    Here I am.

    JohnBoy Thanks this.

I had the 280 hours of training to do. My trainer was on a dedicated Costco account. It was mostly drop and hook. I was home every weekend. Granted very few people got that good of a deal.

I wish me and my 38 years was in demand, then I could get that perfect job.

Don't fret.... You will be in demand in 3.5 years.
So close, yet so far away... Ugh.
