us 71 between ft. smith & texarkana. pulling puttinear 79,000. looks by map it may be a very slow route. any opinions? thx

Can't remember where it was but ages ago there used to be a sign on 71 that said " such and such number of people have died on this road , do you want to be next ?"

@STexan Yep kinda remember what that road was like in the 70s and 80s. Drove outa Chickendale those years and that road was a nightmare for many drivers especially during the winter months. (ice) There were many roll overs trying to get over Boston Mt. north or south bound. ( JB Hunts driving test)

This thread reminds me of summer 1987 , hot as hell on us 10 between Detroit lakes MN and Fargo nd .
I got passed by a French Canadian headed west and he wanted to know where the mountaaaaiins and the snow started .
I said you got long ways to go before that will be a worry lol -
Where 71 came into the Springdale,bentonville area.
