Been a while since I've posted but to get to the point, my co-driver and I are looking for a decent company to team drive with.

Co driver has about 9 months experience and I have about 20 months experience. We were teaming doing produce, east coast to west coast until I had a bad medical emergency and have been out of driving since March this year.

My co driver has all of his endorsements but I don't even have hazmat. Our overall goal is to team with old dominion but right now I am flat broke some I'm unable to get my endorsements until I get a paycheck coming in again.

So many companies seem the bait then switch, etc, and that is really getting old.

Does anyone know of any companies
That would likely hire us to team that treats people well, gives fair hometime, has decent equipment, and good runs? Any suggestions for us for getting on with old dominion in the future? That is our absolute long term goal.

We are based out of East Tennessee.

Thanks so much for any help or suggestions.

You might look into Werner. They usually give team drivers new trucks and they're always looking for reefer experience. I only worked for them briefly about four years ago so I honestly couldn't tell you what it's like working for them right now. Might see if there is a Werner thread on here.

Unless you guys are married, I would give up on the teaming idea.

Sounds to me like they are married. There's more going on
    Here than just team driving.
They got career plans for together.

Yes, it does sound like a they're couple but there's nothing wrong w that.

Ask your partner for monetary help and work on your endorsements ASAP if you want to work w OD

Actually far from it lol, co driver is married with wife and two kids, and I'm far from it. We just enjoy teaming the most, we've made good money and we enjoy the long hauls, we work it like we are business partners. The only extremely frustrating thing seems to be finding a company that actually treats you well. We are interested in LTL or specialized freight in the future and feel we could be an asset to the right company or maybe our own one day. Both of us have a background in aviation and flying, I'm prior military aviation, and we just enjoy operating equipment, we are just really tired of being considered a seat filler and want to be valued, the normal things a human desires. Both of us are 30 years old with an above average intelligence, and we do want to find the right opportunity to use it, hopefully that opportunity can be old dominion at some point soon and we were on track for that but I ended up needing a few emergency surgeries which put me out of work since February, good time, but regardless we are ready to get back in the saddle but need to find the right horse first.

Yeah we actually tried east west but because my co driver is just shy of a year they wouldn't take us. I know that may be a potential hurdle for some of the better companies, and if need be we will get on somewhere just to check that block and allow me to get my endorsements, trouble is, hometime is important because we both have a lot to take care of in our off time as well.

Smokey Point Distribution maybe. They have runs that go through there. I don't know all of the qualifications needed though. Many companies hurting for drivers are bending their rules some.
