there is a FMCSA website where all video feeds are transmitted live time. anyone can simply log on,enter your mc# and unit number and watch you. we see all.

All of these devices have a hard time seeing through aluminum foil. Take the hat off your head and place it over the camera.

 

I'm a big fan of dash cams. I have them in every single truck I own. I do not like driver facing ones though and I tell every one of my drivers that the cameras are on a 2 hour loop then record over itself. use it if you want, don't if you don't want to. if you do and I shouldnt see it then maybe the sim card dissappeared, but if something happens and you need evidence the other guys lying, it's good to know you had that thing on.

OP, to answer your question, it's anybody's guess. Go spend a day with dispatch before you take the job, and "see" what they see. . . or the FM's, or something. I would. Personally, I would.

I am leased to a company that has them in their company trucks. I do not have one in mine, but I do receive the fleetwide QC Messages, such as this one.

If there was ever any doubt that they are watching more than just critical events, this should put it to rest.
