Don't be annoyed with Road Assist :)

You can figure that when that truck stops doing anything that it's normally expected to do that you will be riding into some town with a wrecker driver. There isn't any 'get out and wiggle this' or 'try flipping this' beyond maybe 'is the fuse blown?' If they can't physically touch it, it is going to Kenworth. The trucks are under warranty and TA loves it. So just count on it that if it's not a tire, your ### gets towed. There's no sending a mechanic out or anything.

And you're in a T700 (push button trans)? I thought all lease guys pimped around in the T680's. That ###### beeping sound that the trans in the T700's makes when something goes wrong makes my neck hairs stand up and sends waves down my spine. I despise that noise beyond words. And there's no way to get it to stop besides turning off the key for a while and walking a block to get away from the noise (and stopping every 2 feet because your legs quit working when that wave goes down your spine).

Don't worry too much about the lacking of backing practice. You'll get your fill in the Bronx your virgin voyage there.

But it sounds like you really plan to stick it out. Keep at it and it'll all come together.

    I would be honored...lol.

That's one word for it I suppose.

It has been a bit of a rocky start but at least I know how to handle a breakdown situation now.

My coach is a 700 man all the way. Claims there's much more room in the 700 for an extra person. And yes that alarm is a lot like fingernails on a chalkboard to me as well. As for the Bronx, there are some thoughts that just don't need to be contemplated until you have no other options.

He's a lease guy who hasn't said a single word about the program to me.

CD are getting about a 50-50 split between 680s and 700s as they are pulling the last of the 700s out of service this year. Personally I want a 680 because I like the dash layout better and do not plan on being a coach/trainer.

Just stick to YOUR plan and don't let anyone move you off it. We all have our own interests to look after so look out for your own.

I agree with him on the extra room in the T700's. My 550k mile beast just got swapped for a 680 and there isn't as much storage space in it as in the 700. But the bunks seem bigger and everything else about it is better. It is even a lot easier to drive for some reason.

And everyone makes an overly big deal out of Hunts Point, but really it is a breeze to get to if you go in at night and just follow the signs to the meat market. The 15 minutes you'll spend backing it in with a 90 between 2 trucks and a row of cars is a pain. Back up 2 inches, run out and look, back up 2 more inches, run out and look, etc etc etc.

Chicago is the biggest PITA though.

KW T700 is a piece of junk. The T680 are more reliable.
I have seen brand new 700's getting towed to KW.
