Company driver is a choice for new drivers who are recent graduates or guys who have been out of trucking and they don't mind going out with trainer for 11 days.
Expierienced drivers have to go Lease.
They may have changed this policy. I left TA about a year ago. I was company driver for many years.

Company drivers do swaps (repower loads), anytime lease guys or another company guy get behind on their load they take load and swap it out.
Most trips are 700 to 1200 miles loaded. You pick up most loads at Tyson, Cargill, National Beef and JBS (SWIFT), you mostly drop and hook but loads are almost never ready till drop dead time. (Look to do 10 hr break waitinglBroke Down 69 and bamalife123 Thank this. -

End of Track 2...
OK, usually I try to quote and answer each and every question but today I'm a little wore down and I'm just going to tell the tale and then later I'll come back through and answer what I can. When I last updated we were trying to get a balky transmission fixed and after an interminable wait we finally got out Tuesday and hit the training trail again with a vengance. From Tuesday afternoon until two hours ago the only time the truck was parked was for two quick showers. In 5 1/2 days we covered just shy of 6100 miles, made 3 pickups, three drops and one relay. I'm a little tired but glad to know when the feces hits the oscillating cooling device I can answer the challenge. My coach and I really got on well and never passed a single tense word between us and as we split up just an hour or so ago he payed me the compliment of calling me, for the first time, Driver. Weird how that made me feel.
Tomorrow begins Track 3. Cone course test out and paperwork followed by truck assignment and our first solo loads. Going to be here through at least Tuesday so it'll be easier to update.
Hope I get a 680...
