I have a co-driver who wouldn't be able to drive. We are a team only outfit.

Bulkmatic is ok too. I'd still choose A&R though.
I've unloaded flour at Bisquik in Kansas City and talked to Bulkmatic drivers there. They were happy as can be and making good money.

Money is important. I can't afford to move where there is less money. That's why I was looking at tankers. As long as there is steady freight, there should be a little more money.

A&R seems to be at the top of my list as well and for the same reasons you mentioned. HazMat seems like a hassle, but I'm sure it's worth it in the long run. I am a little tired of running reefer right now with its delays and waiting and all the other joys involved.

Most of my career was reefers which I enjoyed, but tankers was much more relaxed and no hassles with shippers or receivers.
Actually liked the stress of pulling reefers with the odd running hours and tight schedules.

Maybe it's fate or life teasing me for a let down, but I randomly ran into another driver at a truck stop and asked him how he liked his truck (one I was kind of looking at if I were to get my own). It's a 2012 with 400,000 miles, but had a lot of work done my the manufacturer so it came with a 2 year warranty as if it were new. Around $48,000 and a really small down payment. He gave me a card for the place. He said he bought two. I may look into that.

Trailer Transit seems pretty good for owner-operators to lease on to. I think the truck has to be no more than 10 yrs. old though.

Never, never, never ever give 2 weeks notice. Ever.

Giving 2 weeks notice puts your final check in jeopardy.

I know everybody wants to feel good about themselves by doing the Dudley Do-Right routine, but just make sure it's worth losing your final check to do so.

Those who advocate giving 2 weeks notice never seem to have an answer to this question.

Giving a two week is a bad ideal
.... But leaving on a positive note goes a long way
... Blame yourself if you have to
Make sure to let them know you wish them well it's been real
