Ok, so I recently bought this microphone, shipping was fast but. I got it, plugged it and when ever i keyed the #### thing it made these awful noises, the key red strobes didn't work either. I put in a brand new 9v into it and it didn't do anything. To make sure it wasn't just my radios fault i plugged my other mic in that worked fine. Im using a RoadMaster RE6000. Reason for the new mic was that i could not send a signal though on my end, but everything else like keying it worked, Others could hear me dead keying also. So like, I dont know if i should have the mic plug resodered or that i should just send this piece of crap mic back (which im in the proccess of waiting from the ebay seller of my complaint right now.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-PIN-POWER...121896976531?ssPageName=ADME:X:RRIRTB:US:3160 This is the microphone,
The tone was like. Highpitched, and changed and eventually got low, it sounded like a broken police siren or some far out weed music...
Help?
Broken mic or broken raido?

Mic is probably not wired right for your radio...That radio you have is one odd-ball of a radio.
handlebar and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -

I have looked at all my internet sites to find something on the RoadMaster RE6000, and the closest thing I have seen is the RE4000, which are listed on eBay as "vintage"...
Just because it uses a 4 pin mic plug, doesn't mean the Mic you bought is wired for your radio...All 4 pin radios are not the same, specially the older radios.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
I bought a used radio years ago kingswood was the brand, had to get a new mike rewired as it would keep the radio keyed up all the time. After rewiring the mike it was a pretty good radio used it for several years. Never have run across another kingswood.

CB Tricks has nothing on this brand of radio, so don't bother going there to find the wiring info...You maybe able to download the owners manual if you Google the Radio, but those sites are "hit and miss" about getting the right manual, plus they usually charge for the download...
Best bet if you want to use the new mic, take it and the radio to a cb shop. -
I dont know any CB shops, Im in North West NJ rn
