Broken mic or broken raido?

Mic is probably not wired right for your radio...That radio you have is one odd-ball of a radio.

 

I have looked at all my internet sites to find something on the RoadMaster RE6000, and the closest thing I have seen is the RE4000, which are listed on eBay as "vintage"...

Just because it uses a 4 pin mic plug, doesn't mean the Mic you bought is wired for your radio...All 4 pin radios are not the same, specially the older radios.

 

I bought a used radio years ago kingswood was the brand, had to get a new mike rewired as it would keep the radio keyed up all the time. After rewiring the mike it was a pretty good radio used it for several years. Never have run across another kingswood.

 

If you have the owners manual, it may have the wiring diagram for the pins listed, and you can just re-wire the new Mic...If you don't have the manual, you could take the radio to a CB Shop and they could rewire the Mic for you for probably under $20...

CB Tricks has nothing on this brand of radio, so don't bother going there to find the wiring info...You maybe able to download the owners manual if you Google the Radio, but those sites are "hit and miss" about getting the right manual, plus they usually charge for the download...

Best bet if you want to use the new mic, take it and the radio to a cb shop.
