Check the Hydro fluid level on the firewall, even a few ounces low makes those clutches goofy, sounds like possible air in the system

How bad is it if the hydro fluid is over the max Mark?

have a student pump the pedal and watch the level, slightly over-not bad, way over- bad,= someone over filled it cause it was low and got air in the system=bleed master cylinder and slave cylinder=not fun

There should be roughly 1to 2 inches of free play. Freightliner likes to see the clutch engage right when the pedal is even with the brake pedal. You are having alot of issues with this truck. Are you still bitter about your seat being bolted to the floor? Lol.

    91B20H8 and TennMan Thank this.

Well, we lost a 160xxx trailer today due to fire. And it may have been pulled by an IC, I think. All that was left of the tractor was metal. A big pile of it. Why I think it was an IC? The mudflap brackets were stainless steel. I have no status on the driver, just hope for the best. The ambulance left the scene in a hurry but with no lights flashing. Have no idea of what caused the fire or the accident. Another truck was involved. I-40 WB Arkansas. Keep the driver and family in your prayers.
