I start September 5th and I'm not looking forward to slip seating at all! It's one of the only downsidesto this job. I was told 3 to 4 times a week!?

I'm under the impression that you have to put in your time before you get on a program.

Our office tries, and I stress tries, to keep slip seating to once a work period.

It all depends how many guys before you are waiting on a program. Let me tell you this, slipseating sucks and you will at times do it 3-4 times a week. It's a 50/50 on if the truck will be clean and even if Walmart has strict hiring standards, some of the drivers that drive these trucks full time will not report issues on them so while you're doing your pretrip you'll discover it or find out about it on the road.

I think the slipseating part is pretty pathetic if Walmart wants the best of the best. That's definitely not treating the best as if they are the best. Hate driving in other peoples' filth, you can complain, but you'll just be given another truck with empty piss bottles on the side of the mattress or a truck with a mattress cover that's been sweated so much on you're not sure it's been pissed on.

You'll also get into trucks where some guys think they're above the rules and leave all their dirty linens on the bed, the cabinets will be stuffed with trash so you have no where to put your stuff. Also make sure to wipe the wheel before you touch it, some will turn your hands black.

If you need to clean your teeth, I noticed a lot of drivers leave those dirty tooth floss sticks all over in their cab. Maybe it's for others to use as well?

Not trying to scare some of you, but this is the honest truth. I wouldn't move 2k miles across the country to slipseat in dirty trucks all week when you can do that locally running linehaul for an LTL and make the same of money or more.

With all of Walmart's rules you still have to put up with all this?

No thank you. Some things just aren't worth the money IMO.
