    Yep. The illusion of independence.

Yes, I'm learning that. The independence is an illusion. It's like a dog being on a 50 ft leash. Yeah he's a little independent but if he goes too far the leash chokes him. Lol. Best analogy I could think of.

If you want more independence why not get your own authority?

Probably because he'd like much more independence and opportunity than he has now, but not all the headaches and time consuming responsibilities of being completely on his own.
There are several carriers to choose from that fit those desires and needs.

It's a lost cause Spydie people over here seem to think sni is the best O/O company around. They're good for what you use them for but no where near the best.. If you really really really break down what he have going on here we're just company guys with access to the load board.. That's all

It's an interesting concept, one challenge they will face comes from not having a large fleet stand behind them but in time I hope the are able to address that.

The existing carries are sure to work against then because if successful their approach would be very disruptive to existing designs and the current business model.

Carbon motors attempted to develop a police specific vehicle and look at what happened to them? Ford, GM and Chrysler certainly didn't want to see them enter the market.

Hopefully their business model will be able to sustain the headwinds they are sure to face.

There is no such thing as a best company. No matter what company or even your own authority there will be downsides and headaches along with some positives.
It's ultimately what do you want to do, what suits you the best? That's different for everybody.

I'm looking into all my options. I agree with some of what Duddie said, SNI is pretty good & I'm grateful for the opportunity to come here & get my start as a contractor but they are more & more regulating us. Other companies do that as well. I also agree with spyder, I want a little more independence but not all the headaches of my own authority, at least yet. The day may come or I may find a good place to lease with that will keep me from getting my numbers. Time will tell.

If it works for them, that's great. Nothing wrong with that. We each have different wants and needs in life.
The only thing i ask of guys is don't lie to yourself. An example of what i mean by this is a guy that does one of those lp's at a big carrier that pays 88 cpm and is convinced he is making good money.

Not that I'd want that money but to him it may be good money, we can't judge simply say he's leaving money in the table...

Sometimes I wonder why anyone drives for say Trans Am, but I have met people who say it works for them, horses for courses I guess...
