Amen on ATBS. Dumping them as soon as my taxes are done. Giving profit Gauges a try.

The beauty of a one year lease is if you decide you like the truck you can keep it and regonotiate the terms. Right? Idk. If this is the case, it would seem to me to be the only way to go.

I wanted out of company driving. I wanted to dip my toe into O/O. Choice appealed to me with the load board.

SFI allowed me to get into a new Volvo, and I have the possibility (and the intent) of owning it in 3 years. If I save $1555 per month I will have the residual payment. That is doable. After that I travel the country aimlessly perusing backpage in every city in which I deliver, until the wheels fall off (me or the truck).

I am working harder than as a company driver, but today I saw a load to Vegas from TX next week and said "Maybe I'm due for my first time off". So I booked it...

And to your point, my knowledge of truck engines is from the gut. But I have seen nothing that tells me a well maintained (by me) D13 can't last 1.5 million miles. There are threads here stating same. Wish me luck.

I never have any luck with local accountants and just went with ATBS. They haven't been pro active in reaching out to me or looking out for my best interests. I will be leaving soon also.

    What is profit gauges?
