As a man who has had a CDL for 20 years, I can honestly tell you that as long as your felony has been expunged it will not appear on your background check. So no, you don't have to mention it. Just stay clean from here on out and you will be fine. Has far as the accidents go, you can can try to hide them from future employers, but accidents, your fault or not, will probably show up on your driving record. If you fail to mention this and they find it, they me see it as you lied on your app. and probably will not hire you. Honesty really is the best policy and future employers will be much more forgiving seeing how the accidents weren't your fault. Hopen this helps and good luck in your future.

When I was in college and for a few years after I was a heavy drinker and was in many, many bar fights. Amazingly, I was never arrested. According to some of the posters on here, I must have issues with alcohol and violence. Next time i go for a dot physical I should self report myself and those past issues. Even though I've had a cdl since I was 18 and in these last 19 years I've never had a ticket in a cmv or any work place related issues.

Some of the self righteousness on here makes me sick.

Anyone have any opinions on what a better option would be in terms of school or terminal school contract? Living in CT, I've only got so many options & unfortunately these #### schools haven't renewed their contract with the WIOA grant office, not 1 of them. SO even if I qualify for the WIOA grant, I'll have to wait until each school files under the new contract for this year.
Is there a good thread here about pre-hire letters? I hear people talk about them but I'm unsure of how they work. I've called several companies & most of them told me I would have to go to school in my state 1st. I guess I'll have to search out a list of CT companies that offer schooling? If any1 can help please let me know, I will return the favor if I ever can. -
Going the school route, especially if using grant money, is a good option and opens more doors for a new driver right out of the box and you get to avoid all the "Mega" drama too.Last edited: Sep 2, 2016
