Is there a thread on here about other companies that specialize in teaming that will hire new CDL grads?

See how these low-life companies exist: offer piece work pay, overcompensate for the deficiencies in that pay system with assessorial pay, and entice them in with a "sign on bonus."

Do that, every prospective driver thinks their going to make the big bucks working for you. But, instead the company will short he driver miles, have you waiting unpaid for hours for everything, make up any excuse to deny you the assessorial pay you have coming to you, and then fire you or starve you out days before that "sign on bonus" comes due.

Just fished training at Werner, yes there are sign on bonuses for certain accounts and depending on what area your in. Here in the southwest Dollar General has a $5000 bonus, .99 store has a $2500 bonus, and Team Werner (all 48 states) has a $7500 - $10,000 bonus. It's out there, just depends on what you want to do.

That advice may have been handy 9 months ago. As is, I'll live out my year. When it's up - going local. What's important to me cannot be found in the places I'm sent by the Blue Screw, nor does their compensation (loosely used) entice me to forsake those things important to me any longer than I have to.
This isn't the life I desire to lead. Some other sucker can have it, and all the power to 'em.

Yeah but with most companies, you bring your own team mate, right? With CRST, you basically get assigned one from the very beginning, without knowing whether you like eachother or not? If I were to go for orientation with a mega like England or Swift, and I told them I want to team, would they most-likely fine me a team mate, or ould I have to find one myself?

Not really sure, but I have heard from other drivers that have done it that if you are both students and want to team they will put you on seperate trainer trucks and after you will both be assigned to the same truck. If you don't have someone you want to team with they generally have a sheet of questions to get your preferences, smoking/non-smoking, if you prefer day/night drriving, etc.

Their has to be a problem with a company if you got to wave $10,000 in a drivers face to take a job.
