Hello all,
I've been a long time stalker of these forums, finally decided to make an account and post something for a change.
I am currently looking for a tanker(bulk) or flatbed company ( or o/o that wants a driver ) that has a generous pet policy. I am currently driving NE Region for Schneider VTL at the moment. They treat me well(I do plan on writing a review of them on the forums here shortly). I have no issues with them, the pay has been okay. The only thing keeping me from staying with Schneider is the lack of a pet policy.
I would like to get into either Bulk or Flats. Bulk would be the preferred choice with flats coming close second. I don't mind hazmat, I just don't have my endorsement yet. I do have tanker. Current 4 months driving experience(All in Northeast, mostly New England. So that should equal to 1 year anywhere else).
Tanker/Flats Company with pet policy

dieselViking and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
Mansur is flatbed and allows pets.
Prime has flatbed and tanker divisions with pet policies although a lot of members find issues with the company. Plenty to read on here
Or wait 2 more months and lease a truck from Schneider and you can have a zoo in it if you want.
But everyone else is gonna tell you you're too fresh of a driver to handle the distraction of a pet, I think they get confused between a ##### and a #####-cat.Dharok Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies. Sorry it took so long for me to get back.
@CasanovaCruiser - Leasing with Schneider has been on my radar and something I have considered.
Currently I am entertaining a job offer from a local rail road company. I find out from them if they are going to move forward or not with the offer(I had to wait the 30 days for a background check).
If it is a no go with the railroad I will probably be looking into the lease program with Schneider more indepth. Maybe I can convince my dbl to let me in a little early.
Things at home are tough, I can't be out as long as I need to or like to be to make decent money due to the pet situation. We can't afford to board her or do day care and due to certain health issues with my dog she can't be left home alone all day either, so my wife is not able to work as much. That is pretty much the reason I need to find a company or lease so that I can bring mah dog, without going into too much detail. -
@dieselViking . . . please READ some of the lease threads here before you take that quantum leap. It works for some, but less for most. Especially if you are strapped with home time. I'd stick with the local RxR company; have you looked local? Yeah; tanks and boards are the $$ makers for sure. Tis what i / we do. If you have enough experience / background, that may be what to look in to. 4 months SHOULD count for a year in New England, for sure. Will it? Who knows. I've heard good stuff about Mansur, like CC suggested; and have seen a "zoo" in a Melton, like @Chinatown suggested, also!
Best wishes, driver!~ -
I am curious too , looking for a new company after unsafe practices in my current one.
I have some class B driving but only 3 months class A under my belt. I have been on the skateboard fleet. I have all of the endorsements. I am looking for a tank or skateboard Co that will take my dog. Willing to OTR/regional/local. Just want to make some money, be safe , have my dog and be respected by my superior. -
I've been looking for that for a long time.
Let me know when you find it.Zip_Zero_Zilch_00 Thanks this. -

But when you get a hundred of them, I'll have to leave
That's usually when greed sets in.
