Working in the oilfield for a very shady company my uncle and I both want out. Making killer money but running totally outlaw, like 18-20hr days like 40% of the time and hardly ever get a full 10 off. I work 7 days a wk most of the time but my loose leafs say I work 4-5 days a wk.....All we do is move equipment, we have no trucks of our own. Pay is suppose to be .50c mi, 20 for pre/post, 15hr detention and 20hr to be shuttled in the van and 35 per-diem hotel paid for. Making 500 in a day is common but not worth the risks, especially with the junk US-WS is running
Very rarely do we get pay stubs and were out 2-3 weeks at a time in a motel, I didn't even take a drug test, nor has my uncle thats been there 3 years, only cus it was his only option with a dui. No one even turns in logs, guess the office c#nt creates legit looking ones. Give me a pay stub and a days off schedule i'll stay. You've been up 20hr already, feel like running this permitted pump out to meth ville wv? Oh you might not make it there before dark so hurry, just get er there screw the bonded route. Not bsing at all
My bud said the food service place got around 100-120wk raise. Doing a 2 driver run with my uncle 3 times a week (18-20hr) I'd be looking at about 1300-1325 gross a wk for about 60 hours with the option to do a day time line haul, about 200$ for a day run. I'm working 80-100hr wks now, not knowing if we're paid right. I'll do my 70 here for 1500 a wk and hump food in nyc with an otr setup to get back my social life.
Here they know not to push my buttons, last go around it was made clear. Tell again boss man why do you have an ad in the local papers every freaking week?
Thinking about going back to my old food gig

How can you work 80-110 hours a week??
I get that it's good money, but it's no life -
Most I've worked is about a 100, thats why im leaving. In the oilfield you have a 5th line on logbook, oilfield exemption waiting at well site. Stops 11, 14, and 70hr clock but still isn't right
Mike2633 Thanks this. -

You have a legal way to stop the clock, and you gross or net $3,500 a week. And you want out?
Averaging $35 an hour.....
That's a first for me.
Come trade with me for a year. So I can pay cash for a nice house after a year of work. -
Whats not to get?Blackshack46 Thanks this. -
WOW...with them hours, food service seems like paradise. In my opinion, it seems like a no brainer, go back to foodservice, especially if they increased the pay.
If you don't mind being out a week at a time, maybe give Asley Furniture a shot as well, in Leesport. At over 90k a year, it might be worth the weekly comute. Same with Walmart in Pottsville. Scranton also has a couple LTL outfits. I think Old Dominion has a terminal there.Pintlehook and Mike2633 Thank this. -
With traffic scranton can be a hr plus away. Where im going is 10 min from house and 75k a year or so isn't bad at all. Not to mention after a year quarterly safety bonus goes up to 865 or something. Its employee owned after 7 years your fully vested. Say I do 75k they take and add 16% of my pre-tax earnings and throw that in as well
