Happy Camp! I love that place! Reminds me of the town I grew up in circa 1963. Tell him to just drive up to Medford to buy a new wood stove.

 

Are people really so cowardly that in BFE northern CA, where I know there are some sensible people, that they won't burn wood in a stove? That kind of nonsense regulation would be so widely disregarded in this part of the country. I would imagine it probably is there too.

 

Im sure many do. But if you gotta replace it, you can't buy one that doesn't confirm to cali specs

 

In the SF Bay area a few years back the rules were:
Pre-existing you can burn wood.
If you build new/replace/add an insert needs to be pellet or other approved.

There are many reasons the State of Jefferson movement is picking up more followers............

 

I know of a story around here about the local sheriff talking with someone outside of the shop, back probably 50 years ago before my time, where some mash was working. It's a smell that can't be mistaken or missed but the conversation was about other things nothing to do with crime at all as if that mash never existed. Like old friends. Lol.
