What exactly does Volvo mean when adjust it "3 to 4 flats"?

Thanks! I figured that is what it is. Inspecting the wiring and I see the plugs are filled with oil? Don't get any codes song at the moment but I will keep an eye on the wiring. At 670000 miles my intake valve clearances are way off around .35 to .4. Judging from having no wrench marks on the bolts I don't think this ever had a overhead done.

Adjusted the intake and injectors this past weekend. Wasn't as hard as it seemed to be made out. Didn't bother with the exhaust valves. Right away I noticed it runs A LOT smoother throughout the powerband with a little more power. Haven't noticed improvement in fuel mileage but that's probably because the weather has been getting considerably colder here the last week.
