Never broke down with an auto. None of us on the fleet did.

You lose money. LOL! I sure hope Swift's trucks are better maintained.

I kept getting trucks with electrical or Regen issues. One wouldn't idle and that's a no go in this heat.

That's cool. Is it like pulling teeth to get home time?

When I was with Swift 4 years ago I never had problems getting home time. I was one of those annoying drivers that was out 12, home 2 just about every time. Heck, I don't recall ever getting home late, much less not at all. Of course I would hold my ground and follow policy. When I got a pre-plan that was going the wrong way I would simply refuse it with the reason of home time. My dm never said anything, and a couple hours later I would get a pre-plan going the correct direction.
Others though were always complaining about lack of hometime. I dunno if they just blindly took a load going the wrong way or if their dm complained to them about it. If it was the dm though, simply go up the chain as company policy is 1 day earned every 6, with a min of 12 days out. (At least it was when I was there)

Policy is still the same. I don't think I would mind being out 12 and home 2.

Unless your license says AUTO they may give you crap about it if they don't have enough trucks.

You'll be fine on the road test. The guy that does them there isn't a ball buster.

    mattschwartz01 Thanks this.

I don't have that restriction on my license. I made a few mistakes but going to a school with auto only wasn't one of them ... lol. That's cool that the guy isn't a hard ###.

Well guys, I am 100% for sure going with Swift. My only expectation is to have a safe, reliable truck. Please tell me this isn't unrealistic. I jumped ship from Western Express because I kept getting junk trucks.
