Sleeping on the top bunk in a moving truck? That is total BS! I used to train at Abilene, and would never make my trainee sleep up there. I would have him lay his sleepingbag of comforter over my bedding, and swap his pillow with mine. If your trainer is doing that it's just plain wrong, and very unsafe, with or without the safety straps.

I have been known to be wrong only once in my lifetime but I have always thought it was illegal to sleep in the top bunk while the truck was moving. Like I said only wrong once in my lifetime. (I know you believe me)

Safety strap was used on every instance. I agree, nobody should be up there trying to sleep if the truck is moving. To dangerous and plus you just can't get the proper rest needed to drive a commercial vehicle safely in my opinion.

I have ran team numerous times and do so now..never at any point neither me driving or partner driving..have we ever made the other get on top bunk while truck is in motion. Simple way to solve the germ phobia that some may have..when you or youre co driver get up out of bunk..spray it down with Lysol. That way it's clean for the next person. Problem solved and you get that fresh smell.

Wish i could run 11. You have my number. If you want clarification call me. Way too many details to type here.

But if it's too hot or cold then yes, the 10 would obviously be included. But thats not even half the story.

Thats what i had to do as well. Even if i could sleep in a moving truck, its impossible up there. Oh well. Water over the dam as they say.

You guys should check your Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations. It's perfectly legal to ride in the top bunk as long as the safety straps are used. I don't/ won't hot bunk with my trainees. I mean come on, am I going to let them use my toothbrush too???

    popcorn169 and JohnBoy Thank this.
