Playing devil's advocate here... Why worry about idling time? If it's too hot, I idle. If it's too cold, I idle. Period.

The only person I share my bed with is my wife, I'll just keep it that way and work within the parameters of the rules. If any trainee that's in my truck has an issue with it, they are more then welcome to move on. It doesn't bother me one bit if they like or dislike it. Last time I checked, I'm not the one looking for training or a new career. Welcome back to the nut house Shirley.

Falling out of the top bunk under a hard braking scenario with or without restraints would seriously hurt someone much more than being on bottom bunk. I just tell peoople bring a sleeping bag and problem solved..I mean geesh. And for those who say well the trucks have safety restraints blah blah, yes they do, but they can fail just like any other object. Its more of a consideration for the other person more than anything else.

I guess I'm not considerate. Again, I will not share my lower bed, the one that has a $400 dollar mattress that I bought, with anyone.

Top bunk, bottom bunk, doesn't matter to me. I have trouble sleeping in either one if the truck is moving. Don't have much of an opinion on it beyond that.

Well, I take that back. Getting up and down from the top bunk in the KW was a lot easier than getting up and down from the top bunk in the Volvo.

    KD5AXG Thanks this.

On to more pertinent discussion then sleeping arrangements, is anyone else having issues with their QC?

    KD5AXG Thanks this.

Well, just the inefficiency of waste for the company "used" to bother me but, no more. But the excessive idling was more representative of how much I'm sitting out here. Kind of like now. If the truck idles 70% or 80% of the time that means I'm sitting 70 or 80% of my time out here. Call me crazy but, that's not what I signed on for as a LONG haul OTR driver with no need for home time.

    RebelChick and KD5AXG Thank this.
