Actually they got me one pretty quickly. Pick up in Melbourne at trade show and going to Quantico marine base. But not due till the 23rd. I could be there tomorrow. Sent FM a note asking if I can drop in the yard tomorrow. No reply yet.

Hope they let me. Have no real desire to babysit this one for sn extra day.

The process here is quite the run around and very tight to do so. But the folks are super nice and helpful.

 

My point is if someone doesn't like their conditions they can always go somewhere else.

 

See..here's where I differ in opinion..they "office people" come in to work, sit in their a.c. and heat do their job comfortably, then go home. We as in the money makers for said people to come in and be comfortable, put up with far more stress and division on the road than they do..and we have to sit in the heat, and cold just to make their figures look good??? Nah..I'll sit and be comfortable just as they are. What they need to realize is you the driver is paying for their electric bill and amenties in the office so they can be comfortable year round. And they're will be those who say, well they give us new trucks constantly..yes that is wonderful that they do that.but also, a new truck is good for nothing if you can't stay comfortable in it year round. Kinda like buying a new house and in the summer and winter months can't turn the a.c. or heat on..looks good on the outside but inside its a waste.

 

Well things must be looking up. Today is the first and only time I've gotten the green light in Florida Mt or not. Now, if I could only get someone, anyone in that office to respond to me that would be a plus.

All I want to know is can I drop this at the yard tomorrow or do I have to sit on it for a full extra day to drive it 87 miles further north? Call me crazy but I think that's an easy one to answer.... no?

I read the posts here of folks complaining about all manner of things like heating, cooling, truck problems etc etc. ... all I want are the miles and compensations I was told I could get and some simple communication.

As for the rest? I'm happy to lump that under the hat of .... That's Trucking!

 

@RebelChick believe I picked up that trailer out yard,2 stops in Tenn.

When I grew up we didn't have ac in our house. We didn't have ac at school either. I manage to sleep though. It would be hard for me to go without it now though.

 

I'm not really complaining one way or the other. I'm just playing devils advocate.
