No, I'm in GB. I actually saw a couple good loads earlier heading down to IL, but I have no clue where they are sending me for my empty.
I was pretty much browsing random areas in PA and the MidWest...just trying to get a feel for the lanes. Already seeing that you really have to be weary of the to good to be true rates...they seem to usually bring you into a black hole, I.e. Upstate NY
Not coming to Schneider at this time.

There's lots and lots to learn thats for sure. -

Probably send you to Illinois or Indiana for an empty however that may not be the case since they have us resettle the trailer pools in markets now. Look for a relay out of GB and avoid the trailer search if you can.

I get what you're saying though. The freight where I live has taken a huge hit over the last year or so and keeps getting worse. -
freightwipper Thanks this.

I was sent to Houghton, MI out of Orientation for my empty.
Look where that hellhole is on a map, yeah BS right there. Oh yeah and there was a snow storm.
Had to deadhead all the way back to green bay for a load when I was right there to begin with lol. -
Many may not realize the very large amount of money the successful recruiters earn. I'm talking about the ones who keep a high visibility; and post regularly, and often.
My entire class at orientation was told, impromptu after his name came up, that a certain highly visible person on YouTube, (where recruiting is not violating any rules, like here), makes MORE MONEY in REFERRALS than in TRUCK REVENUE. You read that right, and we heard that right.
I'm not talking about referring a friend, or someone that approaches you at a truck stop.
It is the active solicitation, nurturing, and grooming of "referrals", by starting a thread here, (where the rules explicitly forbid it), to reel people in that I am opposed to, vehemently.
This isn't a company job someone is throwing you. You are leasing a truck for one hell of a lot of money, and going into business for yourself. A much riskier undertaking, the downside of which can be devastating to you and your family should you fail.
I looked around my class and told myself I saw a few who just wouldn't cut it. Hell I might not make it, but since I'm single and have relatively fewer obligations, I have a better chance than most.
Then those same active forum recruiters have the guts to complain about the expansion of the program. Shame on them.
The referral program is ended, you say? SNI's apparently, yes. The only people allowed now are those who lease a truck from SFI, which still has an active referral program. Ten referrals (hardly out of reach in a forum that reaches tens of thousands) earns the forum recruiter $30,000 dollars if his referrals stay ninety days. THIRTY GRAND from SFI! That's just the first ten...
Start a thread and keep it going for years? You do the math. And this doesn't include the SNI referral fees that have since been suspended.
No wonder I'm being called names...
I've not only been driving since '96, but also living for 58 years. I've been had by the best of them. Those who conceal their money interest in the guise of being helpful sicken me.
When I go onto a car lot I know what I am facing; a salesman, some smoother than others. The smart ones throw in a few negatives maybe, but they don't succeed unless you buy the car.
When I go onto a forum of truckers for truckers, I expect to hear from truckers without an ulterior motive; not snakes in the grass. I suppose the forum admins feel the same way, as this is their rule:
http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr.../recruiting-on-ttr-our-policy-defined.241475/
I just can't be the only old school trucker that feels this way.
It's hard out here drivers, and the money doesn't come easy. Don't let anybody tell you different.Last edited: Sep 22, 2016
