No, stepped on Rusty's toes once or twice... and I would never do that to my own toes... LOL

So, did you decide on who you are going to contact next about your home time issue?

I have the HR Manager's email, as well as the VP of Operations, and would be glad to introduce you to either of them.

I know you honestly don't see it, but I am trying to help you get your due home time... I personally tell people that HT is not normally an issue at Abilene, within reason, and don't like being wrong. (I know, shocker right... lol)

But it will require some form of action and willingness on your part before I go further.

The help is there... the choice is yours.

As I have been told 2 different things about HT, and Abilene is making you sound like a liar, which I know is not your intention, and I can't get the same answer on this topic no matter who I talk to, I must, for now assume that Abilene cares nothing about my home time by stealing it when they think they can get away with it. I'm have to say that I am not a fit for this company.

I finally got my HT approved. But they are still trying to steal my days off. I can't sit still and allow a company steal from me. Once or twice, I can forgive. More, or just outright denying my earned HT is inexcusable. I will have to do some deep soul searching this next week.

So, after adding the question to my begin trip yesterday morning, three phone calls, 2 freeform messages and a text from the truck, I finally get a hold of someone live and permission to drop this in the yard. I'll be there at 12:30 this afternoon. With five and a half hours of drive time I sure hope they can keep me rollin. We'll see.

As a back-up plan I called the Quantico Marine Base and asked if they would take this delivery today instead of 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. I had to chuckle when even they said you'd be better off dropping it in Richmond. Lol :)

Mine has never needed one. Just curious, are you setting the clean idle when you're stopped?

First, that was a VERY GOOD summation of the issue at hand... and honestly, I plan on using it word for word in the very near future.

Secondly, and MOST importantly, VERY GLAD you got your HT approved.

Third, while I do NOT consider myself a "recruiter", I will totally admit to being very pro positive about this company... and willingly share both the good and the not so good with fellow potential drivers... maybe consider me to be an "Ambassador for Abilene"... and you are right... since I was the one who told you so many good things about Abilene, HT being one, it is making me look like a liar... and you are correct that is not my intention.

While I am less concerned about how others perceive me, I do wish to be able to share open and honest information about my company to other potential drivers.

I am fairly certain the company does not want one of their more vocal and positive "Ambassadors" to start questioning and sharing concerns about the companies HT policies.

But, that will happen after our vacation to the high hills of Western North Carolina...

He drove one of the older black petes. Did the pickle run from glen cove ny with 14 stops in fl. Only driver who could actually get the run done on time. Had been with Abilene for a very long time as an o/o. Super cool dude. Always willing to help someone, trade stories etc. and never made me feel like a rookie (even though I pestered the heck out of him with questions!).

Sign me up for a decal and I will gladly toss in a few bucks for their costs if needed. Just let me know what you need towards a bulk purchase if that's the route you all are looking into.

RIP Hardhead... Enjoy the long hauls above!!!
