Abilene Motor Express....A New Place To Call Home

When the exhaust builds up black soot to a high level it gets thown into the air. The regen system burns the DEF that's added to all newer trucks to clean the system. All part of the new EPA clean air standards.

 

So, no freight it seems. Gonna do a reset and hope for a nice "long legged" run tomorow. Fingers, toes and after a couple drinks, probably eyes crossed. LOL

 

What's it like driving in the Eastern states?

 

Same in the western...just more traffic and heartache.

 

About 2 months ago maybe, he had a heart attack while on the road. Then he got pneumonia and that's what ultimately did him in. I think he spent like 6-8 weeks in ICU in Charleston SC. They haven't been able to get him home to even have a funeral. Not sure why that is, but I'm thinking there's a Facebook group or something that helps with that. Final mile or something? I'm going to talk with Stacey in safety and see if she has any info on the situation. Also going to see if she will hold the decals and money just to make it easier for everyone because we all get to the yard, just not usually at the same time.

Yeah, since I was sent to Wytheville, I called Steve to get set up on something and he said he had NOTHING. Gatorade was shutting down for the weekend for <gasp> their 10th anniversary and employee appreciation. So, called Richmond and got switched to be coming there. Now is there going to be something to haul is the $64K question! Just rolled in after 11+ hours of driving. Not even unhooking from this trl.

 

Depends on who you ask. For me, it sucks royally. I do my best to avoid the east.

I love it. It's so much fun. You really get to connect with the people on the road. They make me feel extra extra special.

 

The state troopers every 100 yards sitting along I 81 are there for your safety and really nice people
