Trans Am as seen by Broke Down 69

Well as promised I'm back to relay further exploits in the ongoing saga of life at Trans Am. Got out to Columbus to pick up another abandoned lease truck only to be met with a rather daunting series of problems. First one was no hotel would take cash, efs check or my company card. So this adventure gets going with me sitting in a Waffle House for 5 hours drinking coffee waiting for a supposed 24 hour towing and recovery yard to open at 7am. Oh it gets better folks just hang on. So I call a cab at 6:15 to get me there and get a dispatcher who speaks English about as well as I speak Hindi. Takes a bit to overcome that but we endeavored to persevere an finally were able to get together. So off we go to the yard when the second problem arises. I left from California and had no contact directly with my DM, which is to say I had no keys. I get there unexpected, seems no one had called to let them know I was coming and, you guessed it, no one has any keys for the blessed truck. At this point I didn't know whether to crap or go blind so I just closed one eye and farted. I also began contemplating mass murder and a nekkid parade through Olathe with severed heads on a stick when low and behold the shop manager finds a UPS package with my keys in it...thank the merciful Lord.

I'm tired. Been up around 40 hours and the coffee has worn off and I announce to all that I'm getting in the truck and going to sleep. Then I opened the door. I'll spare you a detailed description but it was rough in the extreme. Took 3 hours to clean. Finally, sleep.phone rings three hours later. Gotta get up and head to Paw Paw Michigan.

So begins an epic run covering more states than I can remember and a little over 3500 miles in eight days. This truck will run as hard as me and doesn't break so naturally they're taking it from me tomorrow and sending me back to California to pick up the purple turd.

Not sure if I'm going to do it or not. This may be one nut punch to many. I'll let y'all know how it comes out tomorrow.
