Any thoughts? It will crank and crank but won't fire. First time it's started and sputtered but shut right off. Now there's no sign of firing up

How low were you fuel when you filled up? Did you give her a shot of ether to try & fire her up?
Airman89 Thanks this. -
Yeah I gave her a shot and she revved up to 1200 rpms twice then died out. I was on about an 1/8th tank. I have two 150 gallon tanks.

It might be a possibility you lost prime & got air in the line. Is someone helping you or doing it by yourself?
Airman89 Thanks this. -
Nope I'm alone here
-
It would help to have another person spraying the ether while your starting the truck (trying to get her primed. Nobody around to help?
Airman89 Thanks this. -
Sounds like you were cutting it a little too close. Like @ibcalm19 says, spray some ether and try to get it going.
Be careful with that ether, it's like crack to a diesel engine.Bean Jr., Dye Guardian and Airman89 Thank this. -
True indeed @Bakerman try definitely not using on my caterpillar
-
Do detroits have had primer pumps or electric prime pumps???
Airman89 Thanks this. -
Does it have a Davco water separate filter on the frame?
Airman89 Thanks this.
