Good for him and good for us more peoples with some knwoledge in the radio world can't be bad in this era where peoples don't talk to each others anymore.

One thing i like about Mr Sherman is when he sell you a radio or perform mods on your equipments he take time to talk to his customers etc etc etc and he make sure we are all on the same page.

That right there is a sign of quality compare to avg radio shop, actually he cannot be compare to avg radio shop this comment is base on my experience with him.

 

This is exactly what i answered him back on his FB!

 

He has a habit of sayin alot and alot of it is over my head..He is not one to sit and explain but basically says whats needed n such and thats it..No details and such..Just over my head i every now and then i understand the odd thing but most times i just go along with it...
I gotta start taken notes on what he tells me and then look it up

 

He is an a class of his own!

Well in wayyyyyy behind the educational loop when it comes to the terms of parts n such..I know almost nothing about electrical and ant theory..I get lost reading my arrl book..Gotta do a cpl years of collage just to understand the #### thing...Was hoping to find a dumb down version but as mark say..No such thing..
Hard startin from scratch listening to different vids and techs cause there are tons of suggestions on what works and doesnt...
Ex....No offence to either oerson in gonna mention but rabbi will say one thing and ill ask marks thoughts and he will say nooo thats no good..I watch some of dave kesler vids and its a third suggestion....Hard to know whats right and works and what doesnt..I could spend thousands on trial and error and atill not be any better off than i an now..

Just had a brain fart..Would an electrician be of any use to ant theory..I got a cuz that super brainy in that dept..

You are right as soon as you think you master something there is another theory conflicting with whatever knowledge you had, for that matter i keep it simple quality coax/ant/radio proper swr and voila it does the trick for me.

One thing that i have on my side is i don't have to put up with the cascadia, my set up is fairly simple compare to you.

 

The cascadia is another issue..Its been said its not the truck its the grounding..Others say yes its the materials used in the truck..So for every comment or solution there is someone saying no that dont work but this does..

 

May not work for everyone but I found the Gordon West Manuals easier to follow, he uses humor rather than pure straight tech talk. He just covers the basics may not be detailed enough for your standards.
