you can run a 98v off 8 gauge right off the batteries...it's a 225 watt radio.... now why would you need 6 gauge on a 80 watt radio that's doing 60 watts ???

true dat theirs a wire gauge formula for wattage and amp draw ...meaning the maximum amperage draw....

Well i thought it was a bit much for a barefoot radio till i just looked up something..
12 ga which is what im running now is good for 20 amps
6 ga is good for 55 amps...

HHHMMMM just found a watt to amp calculator and put in 80 watts @ 14.2 volts comes out to 5.6 amp draw..A 300 watt will draw 21.1 amps...

    bored silly Thanks this.
