it's really the fact it's a direct connect to the batteries you'll get full power... I've got the 4ga.kit from Walcott it runs from the closest battery up into the driver's side firewall I run it snake it alongside under the pedals fuel/brake tucked in. it runs in front of the dog house on the floorboard only up into the radio. you don't want a high power radio wire or high power amp wire touching your dash if at all possible .just saying that for when you go to the n4 or big Stryker deal.... .lots of cb shops and men have figured out about power cords touching that dashboard lots of ju ju running in those lines wattage/amperage wise

 

I ran a Pete few years ago and i did as you said, radio/amp were bolted onto homemade bracket and the bracket was bolted onto the shifter plateform with just the right angle for easy use while driving.

I tend to believe that big wire should be as short and direct to radio/amp but in some case this is not always easy to accomplished.

 

I have the exact same mount in my truck and i use it with a i pad and it didn't shake too much.

But if you could use only the pole section and put the stand directly attach to the pole it almost wouldn't shake at all.

They are expensive but they are the best rack you can find!

 

yeah that's just my radio hookup my amp cables run off the back batteries farthest from the alternator.. I know what your saying though.
