I am working in South Korea for the last 10 years but planning on retiring in Philippines , my wife is Filipina.

 

Ok, maybe we don't get 40 acres of trees in the Highlands of NC.... maybe the Philippines are calling to us....

except the cobras... now, where did I put my basket and flute... LOL

 

Agreed... my course was 3Xs as much and much shorter. Wife might be taking it next spring.

Then she will tell me that I'm doing it wrong... LOL

 

I tried to get my wife interested in driving but she said she is too small "4FT 11 IN." I told her if she can drive in Seoul , Korea she can drive a truck in the US lol
But we just want to have me drive and her and the dog as company. If I was younger maybe team would be ok but now we are thinking more of an adventure than a job

 

I'm just a fly on the wall in this thread (it's a good read too, keep it up), but it's seemingly pretty apparent why some folks get miles and others don't...

 

@Flattie C has proven a petite thing can control that big rig and really rack up the miles too.

Yes, the adventure can be interesting for sure. We are going to do the team thing but looking for the adventure as well. Next year will be interesting for sure.

There was a woman in my cdl course about that height and she had no trouble. Used to be a city bus driver before doing her class a too. As mentioned FlattieC is tiny yet is doing great. She drives a volvo which is probably the biggest of our trucks.

Send her a pm, she might be up to putting your wife's mind at ease about a smaller woman driving.

These trucks are probably nothing like what she is used to seeing in the Philippines. Automatic, power steering, cruise control etc. They are literally as easy to drive as a car...except for backing of course.
