Samolian video for helping new drivers..?

Can you imagine being Somalian and bein re settled in Fargo nd or Minneapolis in the dead of winter ?

 

Other than the weather shock, there is a huge support structure in mpls for the Somali community. A large presence here.

 

It is, the Colorado DOT made that abundently clear, they pulled me in on the first scale coming in on the 70 from Utah. I started doing all the talking so things would go smoothly, finally he made sure to address my student directly just to see if she could speak English (she was hispanic.) Then he made a comment about how alot of CA drivers can't speak English. He just wanted our IFTA and registration.

Nebraska made a stink about that a few years ago too .

 

HBO was denied the right to film at the towers... "community leaders" were concerned about how, "Mogadishu Minnesota" would portrait them...

 

Something does need to be done about it though, with all the CDL rubber-stamping scams , and places that provide translators when they aren't supposed too. I will say at least Centrals/Swifts certified DMV testers would absolutely fail you if you didn't. They don't want anymore heat than they already get.

 

I ran into one of those guys in northern iowa a few years ago in a blizzard and he had no idea what to do to keep warm or the truck running .
Made him a winter front out of cardboard and showed him how and why to idle the engine up .
Hope he survived the winter !
