With no APU , in warm weather do you idle your trucks all night. Abilene seems like a pretty good company but with no APU that might be a deal breaker.
How bad is it in the heat ???

If I move back to the USA , I will be living in Kokomo , Indiana which is about 1 hour north of Indianapolis.
Being from that area do you all think it will be easy to get home time. Do any of you travel through Indiana much.
And if I did can I take the truck home or is there a Yard in Indy or somewhere close to park ?

@dennisroc the trucks are set to idle above 65 and below 35. However different trucks have their temp sensors in dif places which can affect what temp the truck thinks it is.

With bunk windows and a fan back there ive never thus far felt like i had to idle to get sleep. Also never had issues with power and i use a cpap all night.

Worst part of idle shut down is my truck beeps at me till i acknowldge the shutdown, and the qc shuts off so u cant hear messages come in

The otr guys and gals are in indy all the time. Ive been there a time or two. As long as you have a safe place to park truck i think your good. I live by the yard so mine stays there on hometime

That would be a fun hobby.... thought about checking out flight school but the costs scare me away. :-(

Costs associated with the ongoing hobby nut getting the licenses themselves.

    dennisroc Thanks this.

A little expensive but with the price of everything else , motorhomes , campers , boats etc.... not much difference ! Just depends on how you want to play lol

Just happened to me too... shut down and no matter the key position the QC will not stay running... take a rest or nap and clueless about messages until you powerup the truck again. Takes forever for the QC to power up too.

For the Powers that Be, if you are watching, another reason to invest in the QC Smartphone options... increases communication... :)

Increase communication? Have you had an opportunity to see some of these QC messages, or listen to some of the phone calls they get? From drivers QC'ing they can't sleep, to phone calls their dog is constipated, I'm thinking that's the reason they want even less communication.

Can't justify those expenses either... LOL

Everything else has cheaper options (tent, canoe, etc)... I guess I could check out powered hang gliding... :)
