Best driveaway company

If you can pass a DOT physical; several companies will hire you with that gap in driving.
For example, Freymiller will probably hire you and won't require a physical if you have a DOT card already. They only do urine drug test and check blood pressure. There's a few more companies like this.

 

Here's some to look at that don't require another physical:

Magnum Ltd.

Abilene Motor Express ; not sure if they require another physical but @MidWest_MacDaddy can let you know.

 

If worse comes to worse, maybe U-Haul has an opening moving trucks from various locations. Sometimes they may have too many trucks in Orlando and not enough in Mobile so they need some moved.

 

Abilene has an inhouse post CDL training program that picks up after one gets their CDL ... if you already have your CDL but have not worked in a while... they put you through an expedited version... basically gets you back in the seat, verifies you can handle the truck, shows you how to do the paperwork/reporting, and gets your stamina built back up to drive full shifts then cuts you loose.

They do require their own medical exam and urine test but they pay for all that so it's not a big deal... and works great for you in this case.
