The funny thing is, when Hostess went bankrupt, a lot of people started stocking up on Twinkies as an investment, thinking it would be like gold. They started reselling them on eBay for up to $30k. But little did they know that Twinkies would be back a year later under new ownership.

That's certainly what they were called when I was a kid in Colorado. Now, I honestly don't KNOW or CARE what they are called, because I won't patronize them...

We had a lot of good products only known locally, such as Tastykakes, Dietz & Watson, Jersey Salt Water Taffy's, and of course Philly Cheese steak. Whether Pat's or Geno's was the best is debatable, but I personally liked Lee's Hoagies Cheese Steaks.

I'm a huge fan of John's roast pork off Snyder ave next to Lowe's by the piers in South East philly.

Just missing a construction worker think and the biker.

Maybe that's what they were going for originally.

I'll have to try them if I ever head towards Philly. I don't go to Philly as much as I use to.

Rita's Water Ice is anouther local thing that I always liked to get. Too bad there only seasonal though.

    Blackshack46 and Mike2633 Thank this.

A few years ago when I ran my carpet cleaning business as a sales promotion I would go to the Entimans day old bread store on Peral Road in Strongsville, Ohio I'm sure some of you reading know the joint and buy coffee cakes, chocolate cakes and other day old baked goods. I even had a frequent flyer card. I would then walk up and down the street with my baked goods handing them out to potential people that I wanted to become clients.

Well low and behold it worked. I dropped off some Entimans chocolate cakes at a local golf course with my business card and a week later the golf pro called up and they ended up being a nice little account. So for all you LTL sales reps and expodieters out there if you want to draw up some business you can get real cheap baked goods at the day old bread store.

Never heard of them either. I had to google them to find out who they were.

They do have good reviews though.
