The 8 inch rand McNally tablet

When I click download it looks as if it will download but after a second it stops.

 

That probably is the RM Launcher. Start a conversation (PM) with me and let me have your Name, Address, E-Mail,,,, no PO boxes. I will send you a OS flash for the Tablet.

Also the serial number off the back so I make sure you get the right OS Flash.

Why does the battery only last sometimes 5 hours 8 and 10 can't get through a whole day sometimes only running gps

 

Why does the end RM sometimes only get 5 hrs out of battery with only GPS running other days longer does mountains have something to do with it

 

No, it depends what other apps you have running at the same time. The Truck GPS will drain the tablet faster so if you can keep it attached to a power source.

I leave it attached to mount and still drain's quickly on some days other days last all day changing nothing don't use any apps why is this

 

You mentioned you are running on battery, so is the DC cord plugged in to a DC source and the other end plugged into the Slice? If so, try plugging the USB end of the DC cord into the side of the tablet and see if it starts charging again. IF so, you have a bad Slice (magnetic mount), contact RM Cust service for a replacement,,

If you are not running the DC cord and truly running on a the tablet battery, the time the battery lasts will depend on what you have "on" inside theTruck GPS app.

So you saying to unplug from splice and go straight to tablet but I can leave it on mount

 

Once it shuts off going down the road it starts charging again I would of thought that it would stay charging while going down rd
