I grew up in that area and Minnesota state patrol has never had a sence of humor there ... although with the whiteout's in the Winter there it is challenging territory .

I'm surprised they tried to argue against this based on 4th Amendment grounds.

Gee, I wonder why that didn't work.

I wasn't putting anyone down. I was asking a simple question because in the time that I've been in the industry (~8 yrs), I've not seen the OOIDA accomplish a whole lot. I know they make a lot of noise but I've not personally heard of their lobbying division holding a whole lot of sway in Washington. And I know it's an uphill battle against groups like ATA and NHTSA, what with their money and influence.

It's coming soon and nobody is stopping it. Personally I don't care as much. I'm going to buy an older truck maybe even a mechanical one (mostly because that's all I can afford.)

If I did buy an electronic truck from the 90's I would maybe even check into some of the simpler tablet-based e-logging systems that plug into the diagnostic port and voluntarily comply. No way in hell I'd put a Qualcom or Peoplenet in though. Too expensive and too complicated to install.

The only thing I know about OOIDA is Rocky was selling tickets to the OOIDA Bowl on the Rockford Files.

I don't think it will have as big of an impact as people think it will. The market for "old trucks" is pretty small compared to newer and new-new and it's a pretty soft one on top of it. Tons of them sitting around not that many guys interested in buying something they have to put a lot of work and money into just so they can keep filling out a paper logbook.
