Once you have more direct customers, it's so much easier to line work up.
Quick text "hey, I'm going to be in your neck of the woods xxxxx day; if you have anything headed (direction) give me a shout"
Welp, that day gets booked. On to the next contact that's on the other end of that load. And so on n so forth. All that filling out carrier packets, making 5 phone calls, trying to ease the feeling that one of these days a broker is gonna fold on you or file a bs claim, trying to negotiate for a couple extra bucks.. All sure gets old.

I rather work with the people I work with, and to hell with the rest of them. Unless it gets served to me on a silver platter I'm not interested.

You got a plan @W900AOwner youll be there soon

If that's the case you would be better off to just lease on to a good (smaller) company. Yes I know they would take more than 5-8 % but most times ( if they are a good company)they will have direct freight and will be getting paid more on their loads than what you would get from a broker or freight finder would.

Also if you were to marry a former logistics person I do agree it would cost more than 8% but you could get many fringe benefits out of the deal. You really can't put a price on a quality peice of , well never mind, you'll figure it out.

    hello,

as far as what you have to offer, what exactly is that because if you cant speak freely on a forum like this how do you make cold calls?

leads is the EASIEST thing to find. GOOGLE my friend. I have been a broker for many years and it is really tough because alot of shippers only care about bottom line. rule of thumb is for every 500 leads you call 1 should setup with you and give you freight.

ill help you out with a quick one. Call Alsum Farms they need help with their products.

I'd rather give it all to a casino than go down that road.

So how are you putting 50% of what you own at risk by leasing to a company?

Forgot about that part lol, you could just take her as a room mate or a friend with benefits.
I've been married to mine for 32 years now so if I left her it would probably cost way more than 50%. She lasted through 20 years of the USMC with me making multiple deployments so she's probably stuck with me till one of us crokes. Now if I could just get her trained on that logistics thingy.
