I'm looking at partnering with an owner operator near Gary, IN to haul my flatbed trailers. They will make deliveries within a 100 mile radius and can expect to run apprx 300 miles per day, 5 days a week. What's a fair price to pay on a per mile basis? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Per mile rate on such short miles never works for the person doing the work. The fixed costs will get you before the running costs will.

Minimum $700 a day
I'd want that $1000 spoken about earlier .....Road Killer Thanks this. -
You guys are greedy. It's a pretty good gig for someone who stays local and can go home every night. I don't think you guys are getting anywhere near $3 a mile. For that price I'll just do it in-house. It'll cost me less than $2 a mile
Road Killer Thanks this. -
Looks like you're going to have to.

You want me to haul and deliver, then it seems that $750 a day is fair. Remember you are asking him to haul your stuff under his (owner operator) authority. Right?MACK E-6, ramblingman, rabbiporkchop and 1 other person Thank this. -
I'm sure the OP can find a sucker to take that $2/mile freight, but a sucker is what he is...
