I checked on a load a couple of weeks ago from Oregon City, OR to Calexico, CA. The rate offered was decent enough at $2,700. The devil is always in the details though.

They wanted me to drop my trailer in Calexico where another company would hook and take into Mexico for 24 to 48 hours to unload.

I said, thanks, but no thanks at that point.

Another thing about hauling trees like that in a dry van, is the loaders place the trees in such a way that the walls bow out.

If you don't use straps like every 8' to suck the walls back in, you run the risk of being over width at the scale house and put oos until it's fixed.

I saw that too. Notice most of the comments are about how cheap it is, compared to how long loading and unloading add to the load?
And also that it's more like $2.3x a mile?

I didn't do that math on it but everything is always cheap with that group.

How much does a load weigh of Christmas trees weigh? Are you grossed out at 80k?

Isn't it tho? And promoted as the "fair and right way to run a trucking company"

If I ran my business that way I'd have sold all my stuff so long ago I wouldn't remember it!

Wow, I wouldn't touch them for those rates. I did considerably better then that per mile on more miles.
