Decent couple days for me. Indianapolis and back and now have a GA run I will embark on tomorrow. When I was fueling in indy this morning I came to the conclusion that I am going to need much more than a fleece hoody to get me through the winter.
Stomping through the top layer of ice in the bucket so I could get the squeegee out made me laugh for some strange reason. maybe my brain was partially frozen by that point.MidWest_MacDaddy and bigred81 Thank this. -

I am convinced that kidney stones are from the devil. Been battling 4 of them for the past week, along with an infection. Thank goodness 3 of them have made their exit. This last one is giving me a bit of a fit. I was supposed to be home for turkey day, but since I've been home since last Sunday, I'm actually hoping I'll feel well enough (and be cleared) to get back out ASAP. Still have to go back to Dr tomorrow. Never thought I'd be so anxious to get back to work!
Batteries are dead on my truck, but have a charger that will hopefully get them charged enough to start it. Going to hook it up tomorrow. Used to plug the truck into my house, but my outside plug no longer works. Oh, the joy.
Good to see everyone is in better spirits these days, despite the cold setting in and home times getting messed up. Keep up the good work.Lonesome, MidWest_MacDaddy and bigred81 Thank this. -
One thing I have discovered about our "No idle between 35F and 65F" policy: It is insufficient to keep me warm through a whole 34 during this time of the year.
If I end my driving day around, say, 8pm? I'll have enough juice to keep the heater going all night until it's time to roll again in the morning.
But if I'm on a 34 and the truck won't idle during the day because it's not hot enough? I won't have any juice to get me through the night. And it's 39F out there right now, which is the kind of weather that makes you remember that men have nipples too.
I have begun getting creative with ways to keep the gas pedal pressed down just enough to keep the truck idling without shutting off. It's not perfect, but I can idle for 15-20 minutes at a stretch now instead of 5. And it puts more juice back into the batteries, which makes for longer downtimes between idles. -

I've only had kidney stones twice, but that was six times too many.

I've had nine this year! Lol, They can be anything from annoying to shoot me now painful. Best of luck with those going forward. Drink lots of water and less salt and hope that helps!
