Not to be undermining or insulting, but moving from Flatbed (or even tanks, like I mostly haul...) to reefer is . . . . almost . . . a step down (??) ~ JMHO!

I know a guy who is a lease op at a company on the west coast. He was all giddy because he got a load he just "couldn't turn down". Dillard, OR to San Diego hauling 44k lbs of lumber.

When I ran the numbers with him including his deadhead miles on both ends, it came out to $1.05 a mile. When I pointed out to him that after expenses he probably made .18 a mile, he said, "well if you want to look at it negatively, you're probably right."

Did reefer work for 30 years ( mostly the tri state area ) and I'm sorry to say that my tolerance level for bein treated like something a shipper/receiver found under his shoe is very low these days lol
