I'm just curious, and NOT beating up on you , but why did they allow you to take another test if your 1st one came back hot? They didn't have to do that. Maybe you could pursue that avenue to clear your name? I dunno. Crappy situation. Just grasping at straws to find anyway to undo the mess you've gotten yourself into

 

Maybe you could get a doctor to say it's a psychological issue and you panicked when faced with it.
But that's a long shot.
A refusal is a refusal no matter the reason and is considered the same as a fail.
Just the way it is.

There is only one thing to do at the point. And even after completing the substance abuse program, odds are that he will have to go to a second chance gig or some slumlord outfit. The substance abuse program requirement isnt crst, it's federal. There's no need to beat on the guy, there's no reason for him to see about doing another screening. Next step is completing the substance abuse program.

I was hoping that someone who went through a program would chime in.

I understand that- but the question has been asked 15 ways and the OP has refused to answer it. I'm asking it in another way to see if we can get the truth.

As far as the SAP program goes, he needs to be employed/ sponsored by a DOT compliant company to go thru the program. That's not likely unless he can find a way to go back to CRST
