I am enjoying my thanksgiving day. Roads are wide open and the truck stops are deserted. Today I sailed across I85 from Ellenwood/Atlanta to the Richmond yard, dropped, then made it back down to Kenly after hooking at the Barnes yard. I doubt that could have happened on a regular weekday or weekend.

 

Used to get loaded right back out of there pretty easily, but now it's a PITA.

 

I dropped my reefer at the West Memphis yard and immediately got a load assignment to Indianola, MS. Apparently I am hauling a load of pet food to the SuperValu warehouse here.

Unfortunately, it's due at 4:00am local time, which means I'll be getting up at 4:00am Richmond time to make the delivery. On the upside, I am parked at this tiny little Love's truck stop in Indianola. Only like 20 parking spots total and three were available when I got here.

And I got it backed in between two other trucks on the first try. ALMOST AS THOUGH I knew what I was doing.

 

Hope everyone has had a safe and enjoyable turkey day. I can FINALLY get back to work. Wanted to get out Wednesday, but Dr said nope. He actually wanted me out till Monday, but I gotta roll. I feel pretty good and think maybe the worst is past. We shall see.
